Every SMP has a slightly different joining process depending on several factors including the type of SMP it is, joining restrictions, or other various factors. While some servers may let anyone join, many, like the Felis & Fable SMP have what’s called a whitelist. This means that your username must be added to a list before you are able to connect to the server.
What is a Whitelist?
A whitelist is a list of players that are allowed to join a Minecraft server. Whitelists offer server protection so that griefers who scan server ports looking for open servers can’t join. If your Minecraft username isn’t on the server’s whitelist, you won’t be able to connect to it.
Felis & Fable has a whitelist to not only protect our players, but also to ensure that only those who fit the type community we are building are allowed on the server. After dealing with our own griefing problem, we decided that a whitelist was the best way to move forward to keep our community safe and happy.
How Do You Join the Felis & Fable SMP?
We offer two easy ways to join our SMP. The best way to join is through Discord. This is where we communicate most often, and where you will be able to connect with the majority of our community. However, you can still play with us even if you don’t have a Discord account.
Join with Discord
Joining with Discord is the easiest way to connect with other players and get in contact with our admin. How to join with Discord:
1. Join our Discord server here.
2. Send a DM to Ashybdp.
3. In your DM, include your Minecraft username and a short message about why you want to join the SMP.
4. Ash will get back to you ASAP and let you know when you’ve been added to the whitelist.
Join Without Discord
You can still join our server without a Discord account! How to join without Discord:
1. Go to the Join the Server page.
2. Fill out the form on the page and click submit.
3. Ash will email you back shortly to let you know you’ve been added to the whitelist.
OR
1. Click the chat icon in the bottom right of the screen.
2. Send a message with your Minecraft username and a short message about why you want to join the SMP.
3. Ash will message you back and let you know when you have been added to the whitelist.
